One Piece Manga Makes First 12 Volumes Free For The Netflix Series

Following the premiere of the new Netflix version, the first 12 volumes of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga have been made free to read globally.

The early origins of the legendary Straw Hat pirates are now open for anyone to read, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of One Piece.

Fans in the United States can now read the first 12 volumes of the One Piece manga thanks to North American licensor VIZ Media. Translations into Spanish, French, Chinese, and other languages are also accessible for a global audience. “As the new series sails around the world, show your friends where it all started in the ONE PIECE comic!” Shonen Jump has been announced by X.

Netflix One piece live action

One Piece on Netflix, which adapts 108 chapters of the manga, has an entire season devoted to the East Blue Saga. According to showrunner Mark Owens, the first eight episodes feature Luffy putting together his Nakama, capturing the recognisable tone of dreams and “found family” that Oda insisted upon. Due to the 108 chapters’ division into 12 volumes, viewers are given a more involved experience in addition to the live-action series’ two-episode arc format. “Our whole season is set up in four two-episode arcs where we’re meeting a new Straw Hat, getting to know them, and finding where they fit into their world,” Owens earlier stated. Garp’s appearance in the manga occurs significantly later, the settings are altered, and the tone is generally sillier.

Oda and the team made obvious that the live-action was going to be a separate entity. while attempting to adhere to the manga. When asked about the challenges encountered in realising that vision, One Piece cinematographer Nicole Hirsch Whitaker said, “I just wanted to be true to the canon and those little nuggets of One Piece that I felt would be important to the fans.” They had to avoid trying to replicate the manga’s exact atmosphere, which has been said to be nearly impossible. Oda admits that he was first sceptical as well, and that his belief in the viability of a One Piece adaptation first came with Shaolin Soccer.

One Piece on Netflix made its premiere on August 31 to glowing reviews, giving new fans access to a work that has been in development for many years. The live-action adaptation is just getting started and is already receiving requests for a second season as the manga enters its last saga.
